Museum on the Freyung
The impressive Bank Austria Kunstforum on the Freyung offers you and your family the opportunity to view numerous works of art. Classical, modern as well as the post-war avant-garde. Those exhibitions shine through the magnificent, impressive building in which the museum is located. In the Kunstforum you can visit over 9,000 works by artists such as Klimt, Kokoschka or Waldmüller. At the regular special exhibitions, works of various artists are exhibited, such as Cézanne, Picasso or Van Gogh are worth seeing. It should be noted, however, that the Bank Austria Kunstforum has not been open all the time, but can only be visited at the particular thematic events. Recommended for anyone interested in classical and contemporary art.
For kids and families: “Von Mini bis XXL!” is a guided tour designed especially for parents with children ages 0 to 5. “Light off, pocket lamp on!” is a regularly-occurring, adventurous event for children and families aimed at exploring the museum in an action-packed, detective story-style way. Memberships to the KidsClub and YouthClub are free for young BankAustria Kunstforum fans and entitle kids to pay reduced admission fees for children’s events and receive free newsletters and discounts on selected shop products and more. Guided tours and special interdisciplinary workshops are available for schools covering history, society, art, geography, biology and more.
