Diana Budisavljevic Park is a unique, medium-sized outdoor playground and sports ground situated on the Rossauer Lände area of Donaukal in Vienna’s 9th district of Alsergrund. In this section, the Donaukanal promenade is actually made of two roads running one above another. And interestingly enough, the Diana Budisavljevic Park is spread out over two floors. On the upper floor, which is on the street level, there’s the playground part of the park. The lower floor, which is on the river level, is home to two sports areas with many pieces of fitness and calisthenics equipment. It’s indeed the sports grounds part that made Diana Budisavljevic Park so popular. It’s no wonder, if you think of all the facilities out there that include calisthenics equipment, fitness equipment, a skate park, a basketball court, and a generations playground.
It won’t come as a surprise that many sports groups choose Diana Budisavljevic Park for their outdoor training. Some group workouts for expecting and new moms take place here, too ,such as Mamafit. As far as the play area on the upper floor is concerned, it’s simple, but still, it offers something for all ages. Its only downside is the high level of noise during peak times since it’s situated close to a high-traffic street. Fortunately, the playground is fenced. The Rossauer Lände playground (which is another commonly used name for Diana Budisavljevic Park) features a giant climbing installation, a sand pit, a slide, a nest, swings, balancing equipment, and a toddlers’ playhouse.
