Donauinsel Climbing Park offers adventure climbing in one of the safest outdoor climbing parks in Austria, in the area of Danube Island. It boasts 19 stations, situated at two height levels, as well as a 60m-long flying fox through the area. Fun, action, and adventure are guaranteed. Kids learn to concentrate and recognize their own limits, while developing a responsible approach to potentially-dangerous situations. Kids are allowed starting with a height of 110cm. For children ages 8-9 years, it´s advisable for an accompanying adult to climb along. To start a climbing session, no reservation is required. You don´t need to bring any equipment, except for sports shoes, since all the necessary equipment, like a helm and safety belts, will be provided. In the beginning, you will get an introductory instruction by a skilled guide.
Donauinsel Climbing Park is also popular as a location for birthday parties. Special programme and reduced prices are available for schools. Thanks to ISC SMART SNAP security system, unhooking is technically impossible; therefore, the park can guarantee virtually 100% safety for visitors at all times. This makes it a great option also for schools and groups of children which can be but don´t need to be accompanied by an adult.
Donauinsel Climbing Park is only open in summer season. Entrance can be paid as half day (3hrs), daily ticket or even season ticket. In May 2019, the climbing park has been renewed, enlarged and moved to a new location on the Copa Beach, just opposite the Danube Island, in the Immediate vicinity to the Vienna International Center / UNO Headquarters.
