Dschungel Theater is a one of the best known theaters for young audiences in Vienna. Located in the heart of Vienna´s Museumsquartier, it stages a wide range of productions for families, children aged six months and up, teenagers, and young adults. It offers space to Viennese ensembles as well as to major regional and international theaters to present different kind of performances ranging from theater, dance, musical theater, puppet theater and other forms of performing arts. Young people are encouraged to reflect on contemporary society and dream their own dreams.
Besides performances, the Dschungel Theater offers an impressively wide range of workshops, festivals, events, seminars, ateliers, poetry slams, talks, and much more. Workshops and other formats are designed mostly for children, teenagers, and young adults ages 7-26 who are interested in theater, dance, improvisation, acting, play, performing, and writing. They can take the stage, get involved in plenty of exciting projects, perform, communicate their ideas, and find their own way of enjoying the performing arts.
On the premises of the Dschungel Theater is the Dschungel Café, one of the favourite family-friendly cafes in Vienna. The Dschungel Theater is located on the same inner courtyard as the ZOOM Children´s Museum and the WienXtra Kinderinfo. Once here, it´s a good idea to stop by the WienXtra Kinderinfo and get tips on new kids´ activities in Vienna (and make use of the small, but cool, free indoor playground).
