Hackinger Schlosspark is an expansive yet little known park with a nice playground in the residential area of Hacking in Vienna´s 13th district Hietzing. To get here, you will have to walk up a bit from the underground and train station Hütteldorf which is entirely doable though a bit challenging even with a pram, and it´s really worth it. Once here, you will find a peaceful green oasis in the middle of the noble residential area which is excellent for a walk, reading a book on a bench, or a picnic. It also boasts a playground with a flying fox! (do we need to say more?) For the rest, the playground is a bit dated and quite ordinary in terms of equipment but fabulous for nature and ambiance. The Hackinger Schlosspark is just a short walk from and a welcome (much smaller) alternative to the nearby Lainz Game Reserve. There are no food and drink options other than a water fountain directly in the park so for the nearest kid friendly restaurant you will need to walk to the Tiroler Alm which is located opposite the main entrance to the St. Josef´s Hospital.
