The Imperial Treasury Vienna is the most-important treasury in the world. It features a fascinating collection for both children and adults. Located in the oldest part of the Hofburg Imperial Palace, it encompasses 21 rooms full of coronation crowns, stunning jewelry, legendary highlights, weapons, gems, garments and other symbols of power, prestige and wealth collected over the course of 800 years by the Habsburgs. Its highlights are two imperial crowns – the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire and the Austrian Imperial Crown. For children, there is a giant unicorn tooth (actually a giant narwhal tooth that was believed to come from a unicorn) and the Holy Grail (a late antiquity agate bowl which was considered to be the legendary Holy Grail). There´s also a rich educational programme for kids and youth offered at the Imperial Treasury, including age-appropriate guided tours for schools, kindergartens, and private children’s groups. The guided tours can be tailor-made to focus on certain exhibit types such as crowns, jewels or memorabilia, among others. They can also be dedicated to certain historical epochs or comprehensive topics of your choice, like Birth and Death, The Napoleon era or The cult of relics in the Middle Ages.
