Kursalon, also known as Kursalon Hübner, is a beautiful building located in Vienna´s City Park and one of the top music halls in the Austrian capital. This was once the place where visitors could get mineral water but after the Stadtpark (City Park) was completed, the Kursalon became a favourite venue for balls, concerts, weddings and other events. Today, the Kursalon sees about 500 concerts and welcomes about 200,000 visitors a year.
Superb concerts take place daily, and the repertoire includes the masterpieces of Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. For families with bigger children, a classical concert at Kursalon is a great memorable experience. Don´t forget to book the concert ticket in advance.
If a concert is not quite your thing, but you still want to enjoy the noble charm of Kursalon, you might consider a visit to the high-end Johann Restaurant im Kursalon, which serves great Viennese cuisine along with traditional Viennese coffee and desserts. It also boasts a fantastic terrace with a view over Stadtpark, including the famous Johann Strauss memorial. Nearby is the Stadtpark – Kinderpark which counts among the top playgrounds and sports grounds in Vienna. To get there, you must cross the little bridge above Stadtpark underground station, a pleasant walk through the park and easily doable with a stroller, since the playground area is located on the other side of WIen river.
