Known and popular throughout the world, the waxworks museum of Madame Tussauds is a great place to spend an afternoon with children. The Vienna branch is in the heart of Vienna´s amusement scene, in Vienna´s Prater, close to the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel.
With an exhibition area of around 20,000 sq. meters spread over three floors, the Madame Tussauds Vienna presents over 80 wax figures and a new, ultra-modern interactive space dedicated to the Empress Sisi, the Sisi Uncovered Experience. Children and adults can discover the unknown side of Elisabeth and experience a day in life of the Empress with all their senses – and by that, we really mean ALL their senses, because the super-modern technology makes the experience authentically-real. You can even get sensory impressions of smell and taste!
But there are also other interactive experiences at the Madame Tussauds Vienna. How about taking an intelligence test against Albert Einstein? Perhaps you would fancy to conduct the “Blue Danube” waltz with Johann Strauss? And we bet your little footballer would love to try to beat football legend Hans Krankl in a penalty shoot-out.
Wax figures are the very essence of the Madame Tussauds Vienna, but there is something for everyone to enjoy. From international and Austrian celebrities of film and show business to the sports stars to the top politicians, your children will have an endless choice of idols to take a selfie with, no matter if they are more into music, theatre, sports or world politics.
Moreover, the Madame Tussauds Vienna also features a special behind-the-scenes area dedicated to the production of wax figures. Did you know it takes 3-6 months and more than 500 precise body measurements to produce a figure? About 200 photographs from different angles are needed to reproduce even the tiniest feature of a person. It’s no wonder that a figure costs over 200,000 pounds in production costs. In a little workshop, you can even try to make your own miniature wax figure to take home with you.
