The Money Museum of the Austrian National Bank (Oesterreichische Nationalbank OeNB) features exhibits for the general public on monetary issues, the development of money from its origins to the present day, the history of the Euro and other European currencies. Guided tours are available for schools and private groups that are both educational and entertaining. Based on the age of the children’s, the tours cover a variety of topics in a very hands-on manner. For example: How and where are coins and banknotes made? What currency do they have in Denmark or in the UK? Should we pay in cash or by credit card? What´s hidden in the treasures of a National Bank? The guided tours take around an hour and are offered to groups of 10 persons or more. The maximum number of tour participants is limited to 30.
