Railway Playground Pretschgasse is a cool, relatively-new thematic playground in the 10th district of Favoriten. The playground has a train station leitmotif, designed to resemble an old-style, in-operation, train station. There are rails arriving at the railway station, traditional train station lamps, and other themed playground equipment. There’s even a turntable with a lovely, plus-sized train dispatcher made of wood. One highlight is the climbing tower with a large toboggan slide. Another popular highlight is the pretty sand-and-mud play area with swinging nest. Unfortunately, there are very few trees resulting in very little shade in the summer. The playground is located close to the Central Cemetery, an unexpectedly nice destination for walks with kids and a stroller!
