The Verkehrsmuseum Remise am Wiener Erdberg, which is operated by Wiener Linien, offers you and your children an insight into the history of public transport in Vienna and, on 14 different theme islands, gives you deep insights behind the scenes of transport operations, including numerous exhibits of nostalgic as well as modern means of transport, such as trams and buses. But the museum has even more to offer: Slip into the role of a conductor and go on one of Vienna’s 5 virtual subway lines, interacting with the numerous theme islands, which are equipped with various interactive and media functions. Or you can take a look at the converted “Silver Arrow” set, where you get a closer view of the vehicle’s technology. Please note that the Remise halls are not heated, so it is advisable to wear warm clothes (including jacket or vest) on cold days. By the way, a visit to the museum can be easily combined with a stroll along the main avenue of the Prater Park. There are also numerous playgrounds for your children, such as the Jesuitenwiese (Ranch Playground), Arenawiese, Wasserwiese or the Affenspielplatz (Monkeys’ Playground).
