Rohrerwiese is a nice meadow in the Vienna Woods, right on the Höhenstrasse. It’s located on the crossing of several hiking and cycling trails, including the City Hiking Trail 2. It owes its popularity to the snowy, winter days when it transforms into a favorite, though not officially-certified, sledding hill. The summer provides nothing to write home about, so most people simply pass on by, preferring to stop at Grüass di a Gott Wirt restaurant, just a few hundreds meters further. The well-known restaurant is a recommended destination for families because it’s family-friendly and fun for kids, thanks to the free-roaming, domestic animals. Next to the restaurant, you will also find the large, simple-but-nice Grüass Di a Gott Forest Playground.
