Rothschild Garden Hohe Warte is a lovely, but tiny, park playground in Heiligenstädter Park in Döbling, Vienna’s 19th district. The playground itself probably isn’t fascinating for bigger kids, but it’s pretty popular with locals as well as with the visitors of the nearby Döblinger Bad. The playground is a bit hidden, located atop the Hohe Warte hill, boasting a wonderful view and an idyllic lawn. This part of the Heiligenstädter Park was formerly an astonishing botanical garden owned by bankers’ family of Rothschilds (for more interesting details, see the review for Heiligenstädter Park). As for the playground facilities, the Rothschild Garden Hohe Warte features a sand & mud playground, a sand pit, and a slide. Nearby, there’s also a fenced dog area and a basketball court.
