A day full of sightseeing or work stress behind you and you just want to relax? Would you like to enjoy the blooming of nature in the middle of the capital of Austria? Maybe you just want to take a long walk through one of Vienna’s most beautiful parks? The city park has something for everyone!
The Vienna City Park, which stretches from the 1st to the 3rd district, is one of the most famous of its kind in Vienna and houses, among other things, the largest number of monuments of all Vienna parks. Whether walking, running, cycling, or playing on the great playgrounds of the Stadtpark – Kinderpark or just relaxing on one of the many benches and enjoying nature — this city park invites you to all kinds of activities. Surrounded by fountains, ponds with ducks, bridges, and great meadows that are ideal for picnics, you and your children can simply relax and enjoy the atmosphere, especially on beautiful days.
The numerous monuments, such as the golden statue of Johann Strauss, invite you to do further sightseeing, and the terrace of the Johann Restaurant im Kursalon in the nearby Kursalon music hall offers a great opportunity to enjoy coffee and cake in a historic building.
Highlights for kids and families: Stadtpark – Kinderpark with its playgrounds, sports grounds, and a waterplayground. Many routes suitable for walks with a stroller or a kids’ bike. Lake with ducks (feeding of animals is not allowed, though). Picnic areas, huge clock made of plants, kid-friendly restaurants.
