Türkenschanzpark – an oasis of peace with an impressive history.
In 1683, during the second Turkish siege of Vienna, this park, named after this event, served as a retreat for the Turks and is today an attraction for numerous Viennese and tourists alike. Surrounded by ponds, a waterfall, a fountain, and a great variety of flora, you can go running, cycling, walking, or picnicking.
The landmark of the Türkenschanzpark is the Paulinenwarte lookout tower, around which there are two great playgrounds, such as the Türkenschanzpark Firefighting Playground (Feuerwehrspielplatz), beach volleyball, football and basketball facilities, and a skater park — so your children’s fun is definitely guaranteed!
And for culinary delights, by the way, there is also the popular cosy Meierei Diglas!
