Upper Belvedere (Baroque Museum) – A jewel of the Baroque era. The Upper Belvedere (Baroque Museum) is one of the two parts of the Belvedere Palace and represents a true highlight of the Viennese attractions. Inside this building, you can admire the magnificent and unique Baroque architecture, as well as numerous works by artists such as Klimt (including his famous Art Nouveau works “The Kiss” and “Judith”), Schiele, or Kokoschka. Afterwards, you can enjoy coffee and cake in the in-house café. A visit to the Upper Belvedere can be optimally combined with a visit to the House 21 (Belvedere 21), the Lower Belvedere, and the entire Belvedere Garden. This place truly matches the name “Belvedere,” which means “beautiful view” in Italian. The Upper Belvedere also offers an enchanting view over the city of Vienna. A great trip for the whole family!
For kids and families: Free admission is available for children and youth under 19. Interactive and playful guided tours are specially-designed for children, ages 3 to youth that make it possible for them to explore different parts of Belvedere and art époques from the Middle Ages through the present. Family Sundays are composed of interactive guided tours on various art topics and creative workshops where children can experiment with different materials and art techniques. A Junior guide in both German and English is provided upon request, which features a quiz and info booklet to help children explore Belvedere at their own pace.
