The Vapiano Wien Mitte is the biggest worldwide outlet of the iconic Italian-style restaurant chain. The restaurant’s concept is quite specific and built around an open show kitchen’s aisles and stations, with each of them dedicated to a different aspect of Italian cuisine, including a pizza station, a pasta and risotto station, a salad station, and a bar. While it is a self-service restaurant, it’s a rather high-end one with a combination ambiance of modern, cozy, airy and spacious. You receive a chip card at the entrance where all your orders for the different stations are registered and where you will settle the bill upon your departure. The Vapiano Wien Mitte is rather spacious, accommodating several prams. The furniture is specially-designed to fit children´s needs and includes kids tables, lowered chairs, and wooden high chairs in two sizes. A baby-changing station, some toys, and disposable kids bibs are also provided. The menu features regional Italian and seasonal specialties, made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Gluten-free, lactose-free, allergen-free, vegetarian and vegan alternatives are always available. The kids’ menu features small pasta and pizza portions in fancy shapes like a heart-shaped pizza or car-shaped noodles. The entrance from the street or inside the shopping hall is provided barrier-free. The Vapiano Wien Mitte is located close to the Stadtpark, so a nice walk in the Stadtpark and a break at the Stadtpark Kinderpark playground after lunch are ideal. Some of Vienna´s top attractions, like the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art, the Hundertwasser House, the Kunst Haus Wien – Museum Hundertwasser, the Hundertwasser Village Gallery, or the Urania Observatory are within a few minutes walk.
