Just a stone’s throw from Prater Park and Prater Amusement Park, ViennaFlight offers a fun and realistic flight simulation for adults, children, and youth.
It´s where real pilots come for special training, like screening preparation, procedure training, and checklists, among others. The experience is completely realistic, thanks to the original cockpit parts, state-of-the-art flight software, technology, and GPS systems. There´s also a 7m-high linen wall where the surroundings are displayed as you “fly” through the area, to provide for a more realistic experience. Last, but not least, is the sound – they use a triple 5.1 Dolby surround system with the original Airbus sound files to make the flight feel as authentic as possible.
The highlight of the ViennaFlight Flightsimulation & Flighttraining is the Airbus-320 Fixed Base Simulator, the only one of its kind anywhere in Austria. It allows you to take an exclusive and realistic flight of your choice in a true A320 cockpit, accompanied by a real pilot. Furthermore, the ViennaFlight´s fleet includes a simulator for a VR Full Flight Eurofighter Typhoon and a Helicopter Bell 206 Jet Ranger, the world´s most-sold helicopter.
Advance registration is required. No prior knowledge or experience is necessary. The training can be performed in German or English, which you will need to specify during your booking. The minimum age for children depends on the selected airplane type, but is typically between 9-12 years old, provided they are a minimum of 1.5m tall.
There are numerous flight packages to choose from, ranging from a 30-minute tasting flight to a 2-hour full-experience flight. You can choose between being a pilot or a co-pilot. You can also fly on your own (i.e. with you and your instructor) or have spectators who can sit in the back as your passengers and observe your flight. The instructor can adjust the flight conditions. For example, he can cause an error to show up and then guide you through how to fix it.
For older children and youth, the ViennaFlight Flightsimulation & Flighttraining offers birthday parties. They also provide helpful flight-fear courses to assist you or your children overcome your fear of flying.
