Ingeborg Bachmann Park is a truly exciting extensive neighborhood playground in the middle of a densely populated residential area between Rennbahnweg and the Kagran area. It’s located in Donaustadt, Vienna’s 22nd district. It boasts several cool highlights, such as a lovely water playground and sand & mud area, a giant climbing and balancing installation, a giant spider net, and an ever-popular wobbling bridge. Besides, Ingeborg Bachmann Park features several smaller climbing facilities, a sand pit, a slide, swings, and a seesaw. Sportswise, the park has much to offer as well, so let us mention a few: a football pitch, a skate park, a volleyball court, and a basketball court. There is also a dog area as well as picnic tables, and a drinking-water fountain, which makes Ingeborg Bachmann Park popular with both dog-owners and picnic-lovers. But parents be warned: Even though there is quite a lot of shade in the park, be aware that most of the play areas do not benefit from the trees and are not covered, so always come with a head cover for kids on hot days.
