Spielraum Märchenwald is great indoor playroom with a super cozy atmosphere in Vienna´s 20th district of Brigittenau. It features several interconnected rooms with plenty of carefully-selected, high-quality toys and play equipment, most of which are made of wood and really original and unusual. The highlights include a kitchenette, store, and wobble board, but there´s also a small trampoline, ball pit, baby slide, and comfy chillout corner with pillows where kids and parents can relax. An added bonus is the little cafe with a few tables offering very good coffee and basic snacks. The owner, Nathalie, is almost always present during opening times, and is very kind and friendly which radiates a warm and personal atmosphere. The playground is suitable for kids ages 0 to 6. Older children are welcome, despite a lack of play equipment for them. Still, there are plenty of books to read and drawing and craft materials to keep them busy. On most weekdays, the Spielraum Märchenwald is open to the general public on a walk-in basis, so pre-registration isn’t needed. On the weekends, the playground is only open for events and parties. It can be rented for private parties, as it´s become quite a popular venue for kids’ birthday parties. There are also special days called Motto-tag, which are afternoons with special programs like crafts, sports and movement and creative workshops. Pre-registration is required for participation.
The offered courses and workshops appeal to both kids and parents, and range from baby-massage, to parenting workshops, to kids´ sports, to movement and dance courses, to creative and crafts workshops.
