Schmetterlingspark is a lovely medium-sized neighborhood playground in Vienna´s 20th district Brigittenau not far from the Nordbrücke, the Donaukanal, and the Sporthalle Brigittenau. As its name Schmetterling (butterfly) suggests, it features butterfly-themed equipment. The highlight of the Schmetterlingspark playground is a flying fox and a very nice climbing installation. In the summer, an expansive sand-and-mud-facility is a hit with most children. The playground is located on a quiet street that’s fenced in, which makes it a good place for parents to relax while kids are playing. Nearby, you will find a very family-friendly restaurant, the Brigittenauer Stadl.
