Operated out of love for animals, the Simmering Adventure Farm and Open Stall is a privately-run family farm with ducks, geese, chickens, ponies, goats, and llamas. It´s located in Simmering, Vienna´s 11th district, close to the Central Cemetery, the Simmering Bath, the Neugebäude Palace, and the Railway Playground Pretschgasse.
It´s currently only open to the public on defined days when special children´s programs take place, including Llama Walks, Adventure Days, Environment Days, and others. During the week, the farm is only open for birthday parties and school and kindergarten groups. They also offer animals as part of Therapy Programmes, which are always tailor-made to fit the needs of the particular visitor.
Scheduled dates for the Children’s Adventure Days, the Environment Days, and the Llama Walks are always displayed on the homepage. For groups of ten or more people, including a combined group of 3-4 families, a private children’s adventure day can be arranged.
Simmering Adventure Farm and Open Stall is an adventure farm, meaning kids can come into direct contact with animals by feeding them, stroking them, helping with the care of the domestic animals and livestock, and riding the horses!
In addition to the animals, there´s also a playground at the farm; however, it is quite old and in need of a serious makeover.
Voluntary contributions are welcome and desperately needed to keep this lovely little city farm on the outskirts of Vienna running smoothly and without interruption.
