Running through one of the most beautiful park landscapes in Vienna, the Donauparkbahn Liliputbahn Mini-Train is a popular attraction for the whole family. And it´s for a reason: The panorama train will take you along wonderful flowerbeds and lush meadows, past the Danube Tower (Donauturm) and many beautiful places of the well-kept Donaupark. Some of the places you will discover are a secret you cannot normally reach on foot.
The Donauparkbahn Liliputbahn Mini-Train is a younger sister to the Prater Liliputbahn Mini-Train. It was built as an exhibition path for the 1964 Vienna International Garden Show (WIG) to transport visitors around the park. The entire circuit in the form of an unclosed eight is 3.4 km long.
The ride by the Donauparkbahn mini railway takes about 20 minutes. You can get on and off at any stop.
Besides the full route ticket, you can also get a short route ticket which entitles you to ride up to 2 stops. Day tickets as well as season cards are available as well. The Donaupark Liliputbahn Mini-Train runs daily from 11 am, from mid-March through October.
You can happily travel with your baby and even a stroller on board since all trains have three specially equipped multi-purpose compartments with wider access and space for a wheelchair or stroller.
For families, one of the best places to stop is the Danube Tower (Donauturm). The iconic observation tower and Austria’s highest building is a special experience in itself. Another not-to-miss place is the Donaupark – Sparefroh Playground, one of Vienna´s coolest playgrounds.
