Orangerie Café Atelier Nonja is an especially-particular and super kid-friendly restaurant in one of the top family attractions in Vienna, the Zoo Schönbrunn. The former palm house currently serves as an orangutan enclosure that hosts a popular restaurant where families can enjoy Austrian and international specialties while watching the orangutans. The restaurant’s name is a tribute to Nonja, a talented orangutan who painted aquarel paintings, whose printed replicas are on display at the restaurant. Another highlight is the new, long-term exhibition created in collaboration with Greenpeace that focuses on palm oil tree cultivation and the related extinction of orangutans in Indonesian rainforests. The biggest highlight for kids is the small, outdoor playground in the guest garden. A baby changing station is located in the basement, which can be reached comfortably by lift.
