Albert-Sever-Saal playground, also called Sevi, is a medium-sized adventure indoor playground run by Wiener Kinderfreunde. It’s conveniently located directly on Schuhmeierplatz in Vienna’s 16th district Ottakring. It’s popular with and suitable for kids aged 0 to 12 years and open during winter season, i.e., October through April, daily Monday to Sunday (only in the afternoon). Once a month, on a Sunday morning, there’s also a kids’ disco here. During summer months, the opening times are reduced and there’s no kids’ disco. The playground is divided into three areas: the main giant playroom, a central foyer, and a baby playroom. The main playroom’s highlight is the three plus-size bouncy castles, a climbing installation with a small slide, a ball pit, and a climbing wall. There are also some mini-cars, small toys, and soft toys available. The play foyer features a book corner, a creative table for drawing, painting, and crafting, a small Lego table, table football. A separate baby playroom offers space for babies and toddlers to chill and play. There are two party rooms with a kitchen that can be rented for kids’ birthday parties. No bar or party catering is available, but there is a tiny vending machine with a small selection of cold drinks and snacks. Nevertheless, there’s a small dining area with some tables that can be used for consumption of your own food and drinks. Hot dishes and too aromatic foods are not allowed, though. There’s a large parking space for strollers. There are always Kinderfreunde baby-carers available to animate and play with kids; however, the surveillance responsability stays with parents who need to be present all the time.
