Sparefroh Playground is a destination playground in Donaustadt, Vienna´s 22nd district and one of the best playgrounds in Vienna. It´s located in Donaupark near a beautifully-calm lake, home to many ducks, and a perfect place for bird-watching or enjoying a picnic. Technically, the Sparefroh Playground is not just one campus, but several combined playgrounds that will keep your children busy for hours. This playground has several amazing highlights, like a trio of giant slides that serve as a kind of landmark, another giant slide which is just as cool, climbing apparatuses, ropes, walls, towers and installations, spider nets, and an enormous climbing pyramid that is perhaps the king of the climbing world. The Sparefroh Playground also boasts a fantastic water playground, plenty of different types of swings, standard slides, sandpits, a tire carousel, a swings carousel, turning half-spheres, and a plethora of other equipment. For little kids, there´s a separate, fenced toddlers’ playground and different toddler-friendly swinging animals located throughout the playground. For even more fun, we recommend combining the visit to the Sparefroh Playground with a journey to the beloved Donauparkbahn Liliputbahn Mini-Train, a walk in the Donaupark, or a tour of the Danube Tower (Donauturm).
