Once in the basement, children can send selected works with the book train overhead to the ground floor, which is guaranteed to bring major excitement and fun for the whole family or school group. The Library at Heldenplatz is the central service facility for the Austrian National Library. With seven reading rooms and over 400 individual places to read in a stimulating atmosphere, it provides the perfect place for students and interested individuals, as well as printed materials published from 1851. Besides private guided tours, you and your kids can also visit the Library individually or participate in one of the many children’s events, organized in collaboration with WienXtra as part of Wiener Ferienspiel. Purchasing a day ticket or annual membership card, provides you with complete access to a wide range of library services, the Internet and subscribed databases, as well as electronic magazines.
