Did you know that Ephesos, one of the most-important cities of antiquity where one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Artemis Temple, stood has its own dedicated museum in Vienna? The Ephesos Museum is part of Kunsthistorisches Museum (Museum of Art History), but the exhibition is in Hofburg Imperial Palace.
Despite the city of Ephesos being located in present-day Turkey, numerous Austrian archaeologists participated in site excavations, and their efforts were quite fruitful: since 1895, they actually found so many objects that they were enough to make a dedicated museum. An exciting place for anyone interested in history, especially in the antiquity era. Guided tours for schools and private groups can be arranged. The Ephesus Museum can be reached via the entrance to the House of Austrian History.
