City Hall Park (Rathauspark) is a beautiful park in front of Vienna´s City Hall. Located on the Ringstraße in the 1st district, this is one of the most central parks in Vienna that also boast a playground. The playground isn´t huge, making it more suitable for little kids; however, bigger children can be entertained as well with some strengthening and easy-climbing facilities and a curvy and a straight slide. For toddlers, there are swings, swinging animals, a sandpit, and a baby slide. Summeris a highlight for all kids thanks to the sand-and-mud facility, which is really cool. The City Hall Park (Rathauspark) is also a great place for a picnic, first ride on a bicycle or just taking a break from all the sightseeing when visiting Vienna´s city center with children. You can also pay a short visit to the Vienna City Hall – City Information point where you will receive plenty of practical and tourist information, plus a tour of the Rathaus (Vienna City Hall) itself. In winter, a substantial part of the City Hall Park (Rathauspark) transforms into the iconic Christkindl Market at Rathausplatz and into the ice rink of the terrific Vienna Ice Dream, it´s easy to overlook the playground but it exists and is worth a visit since it´s beautifully lit – just like all the City Hall Park.
