Floridsdorfer Aupark is an attractive, large forest playground in the recreational area of Floridsdorfer Aupark woods. It’s located in Floridsdorf, Vienna’s 21st district. Since the playground is located in a lovely wooded area, it’s a great place for a walk or an easy hike. It’s particularly pretty in spring, when the ornamental cherry trees are in full blossom. The cherry trees are a present from Katsushika, a suburb of Tokyo, which is a twin city of Floridsdorf. Floridsdorfer Aupark boasts several exciting playground facilities. The highlight is a hill with an extra-large climb-and-slide facility. But there are also a smaller climbing installation, smaller slides, and swings there, as well as a fancy conic plate to climb and sit in, in addition to other equipment, so younger kids are fine, too. So are toddlers, who can find fun with swinging animals, a sand pit, and a nest swing. In the summer, the sand & mud playground is particularly popular; in winter, the sledding hill is especially popular. Even windy autumn days can be cool at Floridsdorfer Aupark, since there’s a meadow suitable for kite-flying. A football pitch and table tennis round out the offerings of this lovely park.
