Schutzhaus Hackenberg is a traditional Austrian restaurant located in the small gardens area with probably the most beautiful view in Vienna. Outside, there´s a nice guest garden for ca. 100 guests and right next to it you will find a playground with arguably the best view over Vienna vineyards. The menu is down to earth, home-made, tasteful, featuring favorite seasonal and daily specials. The place is not exactly easily reachable by public transport, so be prepared to walk a bit. Nevertheless, the combination of the nature, the view, the playground and good food served in a nice kid-friendly restaurant definitely makes it worth the trip with kids. Plus, right opposite, there´s the wonderful Hackenberg water tank which is a true hidden gem.
