The Danube Island Water Playground, a popular 5000-square-metres outdoor water park, is the largest park of its type in Vienna. You’ll find it open seasonally on the Danube Island, providing access to various attractions that the kids love. The rope ferry is often the primary activity everyone loves. Some of the other highlights include a real ship lock, a meander zone, a 15-meter suspended bridge, and various water toys. There´s also a separate, fenced-in play area available for children under three. The Danube Island Water Playground features shallow water that is perfect for playing and splashing, but it is not the place for a swim. No staff is available here, so you’ll want to keep an eye on your kids. The water tends to be cold, but it is quite refreshing on a hot day in the city. Admission is free.
