Glacis Beisl is a typical Viennese beisl restaurant in a wonderful location directly at the MuseumsQuartier, though the entrance is from the Breite Gase. Whether in the mood for a Wiener Schnitzel, a Tafelspitz, a Goulash, or Apricot Pancakes, you will find it here. Though the food leans toward the traditional side, with a modern twist, the restaurant design is contemporary, with the exception of the lovely flower-wall garden terrace, which makes it clear you are sitting in a Beisl. The Glacis Beisl is quite popular with families for its small outdoor playground, though the playground is only open during the weekday afternoons and all day on weekends. The playground is located to the right of the entrance, while the garden terrace and the Beisl are located to the left. This means you cannot watch your kids playing on the playground while also enjoying your food or beer. Regardless, it´s still a nice little playground that’s handy if visiting with a group of friends, as it provides a place for kids to run around. High chairs, kids’ portions and a baby-changing station are provided. Its location at the MuseumsQuartier, puts it close to hotspots like the ZOOM Kindermuseum, the mumok (Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien), the Leopold Museum, the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum) Vienna, the Natural History Museum Vienna, and the WienXtra Kinderinfo.
