Hohe Wand Summer Toboggan Run is a popular outdoor attraction in the Vienna Woods on the outskirts of Vienna, offering fun, excitement and adventure for the whole family. The toboggan run is 850 meters long and encompasses 14 bends and an altitude drop of around 100 meters.
The maximum speed is 40 kilometers-per-hour, but if coming with a small child or you simply prefer a leisurely ride, you can easily adjust the speed using the hand brake. There´s a jump just before the end which is a big hit with bigger kids but might be scary for the littlest ones – in which case slowing down would be advisable.
There´s also a food area where you can get a healthy meal or snack afterwards and chill on one of the comfy spacious terraces.
Despite being located on the outskirts of Vienna, getting to the Hohe Wand by public transport is quite easy. You just need to take the U4 to Hütteldorf, and then the 249 or 250 bus to Hohe-Wand-Wiese. Please note, the Hohe Wand Summer Toboggan Run is only open from May through September. Children are admitted from the age of 3, however kids aged 3 to 6 need to be accompanied by an adult.
