Hohe Wand Trailcenter

Hohe Wand Trailcenter is a little paradise for bikers from Vienna and surroundings. It´s located on the Hohe Wand Wiese, on the outskirts of Vienna, in the Vienna Woods. The Trailpark is still in the process of development and currently offers four routes of different level of difficulty.
To enjoy the downhill rides, you first need to pedal the way up the hill using either the challenging Uphill Line, or a moderate forest road. Outside the summer season, you can even use the ski lift which will pull you and your bike up the mountain. The ski lift is not in operation between May and October when the Hohe Wand Summer Toboggan Run is in operation instead.
The downhill lines include the easy Flow Line, the demanding Enduro Line, and the fun KendA Line. The easy (blue) Flow Line is perfect for beginners and families and characterized by plenty of curves and gentle waves. The Enduro Line is a technically very demanding (black) route; it´s a nature trail which has only been slightly modified. The new KendA Line (red) is a fun route which features various obstacles that can be rolled over or are easy to cycle around. The trails can only be used with a valid ticket (daily, weekend, monthly, season) and the fee goes towards the development of new and maintenance of existing trails in Vienna Woods.
But there´s much more to the Hohe Wand Trailcenter than just the trails at the Trailpark; indeed, the Trailcenter offers a vast range of services related to biking. The bike school section offers lessons, courses, and training on cycling techniques for children, youth, and adults of all skill levels from beginners through professionals. Bike rental section offers rental bikes and equipment, including MTB bikes and e-bikes for both kids and adults. Guided tours on the trails around the center and throughout the Vienna Woods, led by certified MTB guides are offered, too. Newly, there´s also a shuttle service for bikers to the Sophienalpe or Trailsafari.
Despite being located on the outskirts of Vienna, getting to the Hohe Wand by public transport is quite easy. You just need to take the U4 or REX rapid transit railway to Hütteldorf station, and then the 245 bus to the Hohe Wand meadow which will take you to the Hohe Wand Trailcenter in about 15 minutes. The Trailcenter also offers a parking to clients coming by car.
