Café Demel is one of the most famous Viennese coffeehouses and patisseries, and one of the most family friendly ones. Stylish and historic, here everything is prepared with perfection and served in style. If you have non-Viennese visitors with (or without) kids, this is where you want them to try the famous Apple strudel – unless you go see the whole original Apple Strudel Show in Schönbrunn. In the basement, there´s a chocolate workshop and the Demel Museum (only open on Friday mornings). Another highlight for kids and adults alike is the Demel’s store display that can be considered a true piece of Vienna. Here, Demel´s confectioners and their creative industrial design team exhibit the amazing masterpieces of the increasingly forgotten confectionery art. A must when you are visiting the nearby Spanish Riding School or the Sisi Museum and Imperial Apartments.
