Der Apfelbaum Fairy Tale Theater is a children’s puppet theater in Vienna’s 7th district of Neubau. They offer performances for children aged 2 years and older, though most performances are suitable for kids from 4 years of age and older. Most performances take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as performances for schools and kindergartens during the week. On request, the ensemble can also play in Austrian sign language, for schools and pre-school groups. The Apfelbaum theater also has special offer for blind and sight-impaired children – for them, the ensemble can offer a tactile introduction to the performance piece 30 minutes before its beginning (pre-booking is necessary). On some days, usually on Friday afternoons, special Fairy Tale Afternoons (Märchennachmittage) for the whole family take place. These last 2 hours and include not only a theater performance but also a craft workshop and fun time with singing, dancing, and more.
