Mittendrin is a modern-yet-cozy, café restaurant that’s also a social project operated by VinziRast in the 9th district, Vienna´s university district par excellence. The café restaurant is situated in a unique, large community house where homeless people, asylum seekers and students live and work together. This project provides them with the chance to work at the café restaurant on the ground floor to become self-sufficient and integrate within society. The café is open to the public, and is a favorite place for office workers, students, and families, and it’s no wonder – the level of service, quality of food and the atmosphere are excellent. The place conveys a friendly, all-are-welcome, community feel. With tasty, creative and fair-priced food of mostly Austrian and eastern specialties, you get that rewarding feeling of doing good because the profits are used for the VinziRast charity projects. The café is very kid-friendly with kid´s dishes, plus you´ll find a baby changing station and high chairs.
